I try very hard not to hate, but that promo strikes me where my anger lives. Enough.

Jim reminds me of the guy you had to check on and make sure he wasn't going into convulsions. Not that he never tried it, he couldn't handle it.

you must not like the south?

not that they have A LOT to offer but Geto Boys, UGK, U.N.L.V. and Mystikal were all the shit 15-25 years ago and made plenty of classics

then 1997/1998 came along and Master P and the Hot Boys blew up and ruined both south and mainstream hip hop ever since lol

not even the likes of DMX and Big Pun could fully bring hardcore hip hop back as everyone else decided to trend toward the bling/living lavish lifesetyle instead of talking about gangsta shit.  even Jay Z copied that which is why his music sucks now (but 90's Jay put it down hard)

I loved Willie D and the rest of the 5th ward crew, just never heard them other fellas. As far as the 90's, I was way into Def Squad and Jurrasic 5. Anyone bring them up? Also, no love for De La Soul? They're still killing it. There was so much great underground hip hop that never saw commercial success and I'm glad because I can still show people new stuff and see their reaction.

Keith Murray>any MC making "hits" today. imho 8)

I've been writing graffiti since '86 and listening to hip hop just about as long. I've never heard of em. I listened to most of today's show...did anyone ever bring up EPMD?

First time posting, so I thought I'd share something.

The above is a link to a mix of the samples that helped make Paul's Boutique one of the greatest sophomore releases ever produced.

Enjoy! 8)
