Jay Mohr Sports / Re: will Jay ever come back???

Beyer, I would keep in some capacity. Knox needs to go....like now. He is the f*cking "cool kid from high school" that still thinks his shit doesn't stink. Nice beard, btw....you f*cking loser. He's grating, annoying, and unlistenable. Beyer is doing his best, along with Ramos..........Get an actual good lead in there and it MIGHT survive.

Noticed Friday the Jay Mohr Sports imaging is gone...they're not saying "sitting in for Jay"....knew it was coming but still a bummer

Dan can hold his own. Ramos is fine. Jonas is insufferable. He's the guy that was cool in high school and is desperate to maintain that...like yesterday and him making fun of how he doesn't like golf. He comes off as arrogant and condescending to me. Dan would be fine with a different co-host...he had been around since Day 1 (or close).

But I still want JJ to say SOMETHING.....for all the "we ride together" stuff he owes us that. I get that he's going through a rough time...I do get that. But we've been supporting him through this, well as lot of us on Twitter have been. Just a simple quick announcement would be ok.

If this is true, which it seems to be....it is shitty. And while I know Jay is probably going through a really tough time, I would have liked some type of announcement from him...maybe contractually he can't do that, but leaving us hanging and the continuing "BKR in for Jay" isn't cool. Especially for a guy that was as fan-friendly as JJ.

He takes a lot of vacation because....wait. Wrong show. JJ has never been off this long in my memory. I'm ok with BKR but JJ is the man. It would suck if he's gone for good.

Listened to Friday's podcast....and JJ was slobbering all over Jonas Knox. Said something like "Jonas, the best radio producer ever" or similar. Wow, dial it back a bit JJ, Romey sucking up to Kyle Brandt thinks this is a bit over the top. Sorry to see Toohey go, and we will probably never know why, but erasing him from existence and immediately fawning over the new guy is bad form, IMO.

Come on JJ, help us out here....we ride together, right? Unless you're being told to keep quiet by the suits, we deserve an explanation.

I'm a podcast listener too, as Indy doesn't carry him live anymore. Toohey gone? That sucks. I hope JJ will address this, unlike Rome when Travis Rogers left. At the end of one show, Rome gave a maybe 20 second "thank you" to Travis....very lame. Maybe the suits are involved and keeping JJ quiet....who knows?

Thanks for the link! Only sucky thing is, when he's replaced they probably won't have his show podcasts. Maybe another station will....

I hope it gets addressed soon, especially since LA won't have him on the air and will only have the podcasts. I love the show, but the "sound drop draft" the other day was a waste bc I couldn't hear any of them. Come on Ramos, podcast harder!!!!

HEY MAN!!

Podcast question: Since we don't get JJ in Indy anymore...I have to listen to the podcasts in iheartradio. I don't get to them all but try for a few every week, usually when doing lawn work or other crap. Why are some of the sound drops missing but others are there. For example, the "scat song" drop doesn't play, but "I'd like to hear about it, potheads" plays all the time. Makes for very choppy listening. I understand that songs can't be played on podcasts for legal/copyright reasons and I'm fine with that....but the hit or miss sound drops are annoying. Is it a radio to podcast conversion issue? Just wondering....

Also, I've noticed "Big Mama Got It All" has disappeared....unless I am missing it. Did the PC police get to JJ? I mean, today you can't do anything that is even remotely considered racist without being tarred and feathered and burned at the stake...so a white guy imitating a black woman may not fly in the "everyone gets offended" world we live in...

Keep up the good work though, JJ

We no longer get JJ in Indy anymore....but I try to listen to the podcasts of the show when I am driving or out cutting the grass. He has gotten VERY SoCal-centric since changing time slots. I get it to some degree, but it wears thin after a while. There are still plenty of national affiliates that carry his show. Why Indianapolis has 3 local afternoon drive shows is beyond me. 1070 The Fan leads by a mile and the host is cool, kind of a local JJ but more "Hoosier",  but the other two are bad and get terrible ratings. Sucks that he was bumped to 3-6 eastern...

Yeah, WNDE (our Fox affiliate) needs to send its local guys packing. Sorry, but this city isn't large enough to support 2 local drive time shows. 1070 is the flagship station in Indy, carries the Colts and Pacers, leaving WNDE to Triple A baseball and non Colts NFL games and college stuff. JMV is the 3-6p host on 1070 and he's pretty damn funny. Does a lot of non sports stuff, mainly pop culture...movies and music. Good dude too, he will hang and have a beer with people and doesn't big time any one. He's as close to JJ as a local guy can get in terms of just being a "guy who likes sports" on the radio. Thus, even if we had JJ in Indy, I'd still probably listen to JMV first at that time slot. He has been around a lot longer, and I like the local flavor after national mid day stuff. They really fvcked this one, and a lot of us not on the West coast have to suffer.

Jay Mohr Sports / The Rich Eisen celebrity parade
« on: November 13, 2014, 10:57:38 pm »
So, I am without Jay Mohr now, living in Indy. 3-6 is a local show, plus with a 5 month old I don't have time to listen to the podcasts. It sucks, but such is life. That said, I have tuned in to the Rich Eisen show, and every time I do he has some guest on. Sometimes it's a sports figure, most of the time it's an actor or some other celebrity. JFC it's terrible. Screw Fox Sports for fvcking with JJs time slot. Eisen is going to be dreadful after the NFL season....worse than he is now. And I liked him on ESPN back in the day and on the NFL network. But radio, why??

without checking,  I'm pretty sure we're going to lose him here in Indianapolis. we have a local drive time show on the Indy affiliate. This sucks. First Sirius/XM, now this...and it really sucks bc I like the local afternoon guy on a competing station. Guess I'll be having to choose, or podcast. Me thinks Fox is drooling over Rich Eisen...
