Jay Mohr Sports / Louisville Cardinals
« on: April 09, 2013, 04:13:55 pm »
Tried to call the show today, but just sat on hold and couldn't wait because I was at work.
I wanted to weigh in on this whole Louisville Cardinals discussion about whether they have become an elite college program.
Although they are no Duke or Auburn, they should definitely be in the discussion...

Back to back big east titles in basketball.
Back to back final fours and an NCAA title this year.
Football won the sugar bowl this year.
The lady cardinals are playing for the women's championship tonight.
Not to mention the success of their baseball, soccer, and lacrosse programs in the past several years.
They produced Earl freakin Clark, a favorite of the show.... What else do you want?

They definitely deserve to be in this discussion and will prove the naysayers wrong in the years to come.

And no one in their right mind should have Kentucky ranked #1 for next year! Why? Because of the hype we've been hearing about their latest recruiting class?? They had the number 1 recruiting class this year and we saw how that panned out... First round loss to Robert Morris in the NIT.

Hell no.

Just look at the quality of the albums Van Hagar generated.  Balance was a fantastic, complex album.

I enjoy both versions of the band, but I must admit Balance is one of the greats

Why would ya? Nominated for best picture and a new comer called George Clooney nominated for best actor.  :uhh

I said I was ashamed. No need to rub in the fact that I'm a loser and I don't get out much. I spend my spare time watching SNL reruns and tweeting Jay Mohr Sports

I'm ashamed to admit that I've never even heard of The Descendants

Matty died of a drug overdose- no idea, don't think it's from Tombstone though

He's a good kid- no clue

You're a dork- can't remember but it may have been a caller from Rapid Fire??

"Maddie died of a drug overdose" is from the very end of Tombstone.
"He's a good kid" Harvey Keitel in Reservoir Dogs
"He's a dork!" Some FSU player referring to another FSU player who called Darnell Dockett gay
"What's the world coming to" Robert Deniro in Goodfellas

I think it's a matter of timing. I'd venture to say he only has time to look through the first 10-20 tweets in a timeline.

granted, you might just suck, but it's entirely possible you're passable, and just getting buried under a bunch of tweets.

I went from at least one a day to literally nothing for the past two weeks. I guess I just need to step my game up.
However.... I drive for a living and can only tweet during lunch or if I'm stopped somewhere... So timing is probably an issue.

Hahaha thanks jay. Just wanted to make sure I was getting thru.

The last tweet that I had get read on the air was followed by a "Here's your boycott" sound drop.  Since then, none of my tweets have made it on air. This was about 3 weeks ago.

I usually tweet the show once or twice a day, and I'll admit that not all of it is A+ material, but there have been a few that I thought would have gotten read, or were at least better than others that made it on air.  Matty Boy just seems to ignore all of my tweets since my Sarah Jessica Parker blast.... have I been banned and I just don't know it?

Or am I just a bad tweeter and not really funny?

Hard to choose. There are so many good ones... Especially on days like today when Ramos was struggling to find the right drops. The unexpected sound drop is always the best.
I tend to enjoy the ones that come from callers or interviews, not really a fan of the movie quotes (except Hey Matty of course)

1. "I'm happy as hell" - Nick Saban
2. "I'm an idiot!!"- random caller
3. "Goodness Gracious!!!!"

So what are your favorites? I'd like to hear about it, potheads..
