JJ just said "Are you on speakerphone or are you smoking?" in the same exact wording and voice reflection as an old Crank Yankers skit by the Touchtone Terrorists
lmao

i tweeted back:
@jaymohr37 UGK is a legendary group from the Houston area. @BunBTrillOG is a huge sports fan. Book him on the show. #Trill #JayMohrSports

JJ and Bun B have a mutual friend in Crooked I
and by friend I mean "guy who JJ once had on his show but I honestly have no idea if they've even had contact in the past decade" :D

you must not like the south?
not that they have A LOT to offer but Geto Boys, UGK, U.N.L.V. and Mystikal were all the shit 15-25 years ago and made plenty of classics
then 1997/1998 came along and Master P and the Hot Boys blew up and ruined both south and mainstream hip hop ever since lol
not even the likes of DMX and Big Pun could fully bring hardcore hip hop back as everyone else decided to trend toward the bling/living lavish lifesetyle instead of talking about gangsta shit. even Jay Z copied that which is why his music sucks now (but 90's Jay put it down hard)

i think we should break down rap groups into 2 categories, duos (2 people) and groups (3 or more)
Duos:
UGK
Outkast
Gangstarr
Mobb Deep
Groups:
Wu Tang
NWA
Beastie Boys
3rd Bass
Geto Boys
G-Unit
Westside Connection
Run DMC
A Tribe Called Quest

I loved Willie D and the rest of the 5th ward crew, just never heard them other fellas. As far as the 90's, I was way into Def Squad and Jurrasic 5. Anyone bring them up? Also, no love for De La Soul? They're still killing it. There was so much great underground hip hop that never saw commercial success and I'm glad because I can still show people new stuff and see their reaction.
Keith Murray>any MC making "hits" today. imho 8)

keith murray's problem is he hit the crackpipe or else he'd still be making records of note these days (instead of working with canibus)
