Jay Mohr Sports / Has Adoption Touched Your Life?
« on: November 01, 2013, 10:28:50 pm »
Sloan (aka @VAGamecock) sent a cool care package from his family's adoption adventure to the show today and I know many of us who have followed his family's story were really moved by it. So I thought it would be cool to have a thread on how adoption has touched your life. I'll start.

Both my Mom and my Dad were adopted at birth. In my Mom's case, the biological mother was a (2nd?) cousin of her own Mother. My Mom's Dad came into the picture when she was about 10, married my Grandmother, and I'm pretty sure adopted her (again). In my Dad's case, a total stranger gave a precious gift to a young Don and Betty (of fleeting Jay Mohr Sports fame).

How was listening to Jay and David Lee Roth yap for an hour not the most amazing thing you've ever heard in your life?

Vito noted on Twitter that FSR is no longer on XM. He's bummed about it too.

I can't wait until Lincoln Kennedy gets his own 9am national show. I am totally buying up domains and Twitter accounts for that!

Maybe just on Handsome Tuesdays. I always imagine Matty Boy with a mustard stain on his T-shirt.

Jay Mohr Sports / What's wrong with the show.

I DM'd with Brian_C60 this afternoon a little bit, to see what was up. JJ, here in a nutshell is what's "wrong" with your show. It's too damned good. The regulars on Twitter and a whole bunch more people, basically arrange their schedules around 9-noon (or 12-3) to keep it free to listen and interact. Even when we don't get tweets read on the show, we're all having a lot of fun cracking jokes on Twitter and keeping up with each other. There are a good 150-200 hard core fans of the show. If I could pick a bunch of people to work with, these clowns would be my choice.

JJ has created an addiction more potent than crack, and that's a good thing, although sometimes, to make it work with the rest of life, some might need a little time away. Brian will be back one day, and I'll pass him my pipe.

You guys, it's not a podcast thing. It's a Phil Hendrie thing. If you're familiar enough with Phil, I'm pretty sure you'd find it hysterical. Jay's voices are a great accent on Jay's humor. Phils voices and characters are Phil's humor. It was super hilarious the first time when Phil hooked a UCLA fan, but he doesn't really need to do that to be funny.

I guess I hope he wins you over. Seems like it will be a feature for awhile like Bob Marley. That won most of us over.

JJ, if Hendrie/Dooley becomes a regular, you have to get Blind Lawrence (Lawrence from Florida) to the front of the call in line. He is a big fan of both shows, and the love Hendrie drops on him on Facebook is huge.

Commemorative picture for the FFP. Note the license plate. Herbie fans know it should say "OFP 857".
